He asserts the extent of the changes that will take place and how severe they are mainly depend on the level of human consciousness. He says the best thing we all can do now is to come together in unity, regardless of race, religion, creed or philosophy.
There are other spiritual chiefs from Mexico, which holds one of the largest Mayan populations, who have a very much the same message. Famed author of The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz has just published another book called The Fifth Agreement. The bottom line is that even as there may be numerous transformations that occur as we move close to 2012 and after, and these changes can bring up fear of the unknown, we are living in a special time in humanity's history. What on the surface may look like catastrophe is really the old coming to an end in order to make way for the new. This doesn't mean that there will not be catastrophe as the changes happen. When a big organization breaks down many lose their jobs. When there are earthquakes, many may even lose their lives. And, while such things have always happened in human history, it does not negate the challenges and tragedies that occur. At the same time, however, according to the Mayans and other spiritual leaders, in the bigger picture what is happening has been destined to happen for a very long time. And most substantially, it is carrying people to a much better world to dwell in.
