When we talk about "how to meet women" and "men and relationships", the first conversation with a woman is an area I often get questions about. For example, what do you do if you get a great first meeting with somebody you are attracted to only to learn that she is already relating to someone? Should you just start each conversation with "Are you in love with someone?"
Personally, I never ask a girl about her dating state. It indicates a lack of confidence to do so. Nevertheless, I follow signals and flirt a little to find how they react. Also just because somebody is "seeing" someone doesn't mean they are in a devoted love and aren't attracted to interacting with you.
Observe the signals that a woman gives you in a discussion. Is she simply being respectful conversing with you or is she really interested? If she is in love she will possibly talk to you but won't attempt to create any future with you (see you again). She might be a bit reserved and get even more so when you attempt to flirt.
If a woman is actually interested in you she will flirt back and give you a few hints that she wants to see you in the future. She will proffer doing something or meeting or conversing or getting together. She will indicate how she simply loved talking to you, at which time, you could state that you should talk again or some more and ask for her phone number.
If you are very observant you can understand very quickly if a girl is flirting with you or if she is just being polite. Now if she is serious about you, and you show confidence enough to not ask if she is seeing someone, you will often score a few points with her.
